Fourteen students from around the world met at Camp Gray in Reedsburg for the required inbound student orientation. They were joined by several District 6250 RYE volunteers and four rebound students. District Governor Scott Ryan took the time to greet them and observe how important RYE is to Rotary International and our district.
The weekend contained lectures, discussions, and many opportunities for the students to meet and greet each other. The energy this past weekend was contagious and the students awesome.
We wish to thank the members of the Baraboo Rotary Club for their breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. They were all plentiful and tasty. The presence of the rebound students from Wisconsin Rapids, Eau Claire, and Madison added a new dimension to the learnings. We appreciate their willingness to travel to join us and participate in our presentations.
Overall there was an attempt to move from a lecture to a discussion format which worked well. We accomplished our goals of providing an initial orientation and meeting and enjoying this year's students. We encourage the Rotarians in the district to engage with them as a way to truly appreciate the RYE experience.
