Rotary’s public image is vitally important because it is how we are perceived by the world. The colors and logos we use represent Rotary. Rotary International has been working feverishly to ensure that every District is using the Rotary branding center so we look unified and deliver the same message. The District 6250 Public Image Team’s mission is to assist you with all aspects of promoting your club and enhancing your club’s public image. 
 
The 6250 PI Team has identified four PI Champions. The PI Champion is an essential connection between Rotary District 6250 and its clubs. This Rotarian is an individual with marketing, and public relations experience and has helped create awareness for their own Rotary Club’s activity. They are self-motivated and always on the lookout for an opportunity to tell the Rotary story. They effectively communicate and share results with the PI team.

Melissa Carlson (Madison Horizons Rotary)

Melissa is a graphic designer and has helped companies look great for 30 years. She met her husband, Dan, at UW-Madison where she studied fine art, then received her Associate Degree in Commercial Art from Madison College. She became a Rotarian in 2004 and served as Club Service Chair for 14 years. More recently, she was the President of her club, Madison Horizons Rotary, for 2019-20 and 2020-21. Her goal moving forward with Rotary is to help her own club with their public image and to bring District 6250’s clubs’ stories to life visually. She is an avid bowler, loves to camp, cook, read, and spend time with her family and friends.

 

Patrick Thoney (Rotary Club of Eau Claire)

Patrick has been a Rotarian for 18 years and has grown by being involved. Rotary is a great way to give back and build relationships but when you get involved you will thrive and grow. Through involvement with Rotary projects such as our $460,000 bridge lighting, iFeed, and many other projects, Pat feels alive and part of a greater community. He has over 30 years of print experience and has been in sales for over 40 years. He's versed in computer design software and using substrates that fit the project. He prides himself in finding the most efficient and cost-effective ways to get projects done. Today his employer, DigiCopy has over 30,000 customers using their online portal ranging from small businesses, medical facilities, and higher education. This experience should prove useful as we try to tell people about Rotary!

 

Sarah Arendt-Beyer (Rotary Club of La Crosse)

Sarah is the Marketing Director with DigiSage, Inc., a marketing agency based in La Crosse, WI. She joined the Rotary Club of La Crosse - Downtown in May 2014, and in July 2021 will begin serving as Club President. In her time with Rotary, she’s been involved in the Humanitarian Committee and the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) committee in addition to serving on the Board of Directors and with the District 6250 Public Image Committee. She’s helped support such projects as the Warm Feet, Warm Hearts clothing drive, The Cameroon Garden, Al’s Musky Challenge, the annual Fruit Basket fundraiser, iFEED, and more. Sarah’s marketing focus includes website development, social media, email marketing, paid search and SEO, writing, and marketing strategy.

Lynn Perez-Hewitt (Madison South Rotary)

Lynn is an accredited public relations professional and fundraising consultant to nonprofits, economic development groups, and government agencies.  And she is now a published author. Lynn holds a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University and a Communications and English double major from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. Since becoming a Rotarian in 2009 she has served as District PR Chair for D5500 (Southern Arizona), and D5470 (southern 2/3 of Colorado), Assistant Public Image Coordinator for Zone 27, and District Membership Chair for D5450 (Denver). She now joins the talented team serving the Public Image needs of District 6250 and the newest member of the Madison South Rotary Club. As she and her husband of nearly thirty years moved from Arizona to Colorado and now to Wisconsin, she has been a member of eight clubs and one Satellite. She has experience as an eClubOne member as well as a Zoom member of RC of Golden, CO. She has trained Districts and clubs in storytelling, relationship building, media relations, and crisis communications.
