Are you and your club looking to spice up your Rotary year?  Read on!  The Open World Program is sponsored by the Congressional Office on International Leadership (COIL) and is available only to Rotary clubs in the United States.  It provides an opportunity to build fellowship and friendship and to strengthen international understanding by hosting emerging Eurasian leaders from a long list of countries.

Rotary clubs host six-participant delegations for eight days and nights and prepare a professional program related to business, community, and civic life in the United States.  The program focuses primarily on developing a network of leaders who understand how American communities deal with contemporary issues.

Last year Rotarian Shari Laffredi of La Crosse Valley View Rotary Club spearheaded the hosting of a delegation from the Republic of Georgia.  More on Valley View’s experience can be found in Shari’s post here:  Open World Program & La Crosse Valley View Rotary.  Another 6250 Rotary Club, Chippewa Falls, is in the process of preparing an application to Host an Open World delegation in their community.
