While we are halfway through the 2026 calendar year, we are turning the page to begin a new Rotary year. In Rotary terms, that means it's time to say, Happy New Year!

I cannot fully express how humbled and honored I am to serve as your District Governor for the 2026–2027 Rotary year. Together, we will continue changing our communities, our world, and ourselves as People of Action.

Not only is it an honor to serve you, but I also feel well prepared for this role because I have witnessed firsthand the exemplary leadership of our previous District Governors. Their dedication, transparency, and commitment have provided an outstanding model for success. We are truly fortunate to have such a deep bench of talented leaders who have helped distinguish District 6250 as one of the strongest in Rotary.

Our new Rotary International President, Yinka Babalola, has chosen "Create Lasting Impact" as the theme for the 2026–2027 Rotary year. We are called to bring that vision to life through Rotary's Action Plan. As we move forward together, you'll often hear me ask one simple question: Will what we're doing create lasting impact with the human and financial resources we've been trusted with? Keeping that question at the forefront will help guide our decisions and ensure our efforts make a meaningful difference.

One of my most important responsibilities is to inspire members to become the very best Rotarians they can be. I encourage every member to challenge themselves in their Rotary journey. Whether that means serving on a club committee, accepting a club leadership role, joining one of our many district committees, or stepping into a district leadership position, I hope you'll say yes to new opportunities. It is hard for us to individually grow if we remain in our comfort zone. Right now, we are seeking a District Treasurer—just one example of the many ways members can make a meaningful contribution beyond their own club.

While I certainly don't have all the answers, I know our district has the expertise of an exceptional team of experienced leaders who are ready to help clubs navigate both common and unique challenges. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me with your questions, ideas, or concerns. Together, we'll help make your club the very best it can be.

I look forward to visiting your club this year, learning about your projects, celebrating your successes, and discovering new ways we can Create Lasting Impact together.

In Rotary Spirit,

Scott Ryan
District Governor 2026–2027
