After a short break from visits last month, I was excited to get back on the road and connect with ten more wonderful clubs over the last two months.
This DG Roadhound continues to be impressed by the people, projects, and passion I encounter at every stop. Each visit has been an opportunity to learn, connect, and see firsthand the incredible impact our Rotary clubs are making in their communities.
Read on to learn more about the ten clubs visited and which clubs they were!

“The thing that amazes me is the people who maybe have the least to give, give a much greater percentage of their assets than somebody like me.
That's the real story. That inspires me to do more, as well.” --District 6250 2026-27 Governor Scott Ryan, a recent Arch Klumph Society member and Rotarian of the Holmen Area Rotary Club.
Ryan’s take on philanthropy:
It’s exciting to help fund RI because it makes such an extraordinary difference in people’s lives.
The rewards that return to a donor exceed those contributed.
Pay attention to the heroes in your life and emulate them.

International exchange programs have long been recognized as powerful tools for building understanding, goodwill, and peace around the world. For many Rotarians, few programs reflect those values more strongly than Rotary Youth Exchange.
Our district’s RYE program will falter without financial support from state funding and the threat to cut funding is real! Please read on to see how you can help support adequate funding for ‘27!

Every three years, Rotary International holds its Council on Legislation - the governing body empowered to review, debate, and vote on proposed changes to Rotary's Constitution, Standard Club Constitution, and policy documents. It is, in essence, Rotary's democratic process at work: the mechanism by which members around the world can shape the direction of our organization.
Delegates from each district across the globe gather to consider resolutions and enactments submitted by clubs, districts, and Rotary's Board of Directors. The decisions made at this Council have lasting impact on how Rotary operates, how clubs are structured, and how we fulfill our mission of Service Above Self.
As your district's representative to the Council on Legislation, I have the privilege — and the responsibility — of carrying our district's voice into that room.
As Rotarians from Districts 6220, 6250, and 6270 gathered at the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells this past April 17–18, we came together under the banner of "Unite for Good." This year’s TriCon was more than a conference; it was an invitation to deepen our understanding of the communities we served and the neighbors we walked alongside.
In the spirit of building "Goodwill and Better Friendships," we were honored to present a journey into the heart of Wisconsin’s first nations. The exploration, "Ancestors and Arrivals," served as a foundation for our final plenary session.
We are conducting our KISS Sessions — “Keep It Simple (and a little) Silly” Zoom trainings designed to help show you HOW to do Public Image tasks in a fun, practical and easy-to-understand way. Whether you need help improving your website, creating stronger social media posts, learning how to use Canva, understanding AI tools, or building a club logo in the Rotary International Brand Center, we’ve got you covered.
Help us help you by taking the quick (very, very quick) poll so we know what you want help with! Best of all, our Zoom sessions will be recorded and posted on the website so you can revisit them anytime you need a refresher.

You can get your story in the paper for free by writing a Letter to the Editor.
Does anyone still read a paper? Yes, they do. Many more in digital form, but local weekly papers are still highly popular and well read.
What should you write in your letter?
DO NOT promote an upcoming event. Use your social media for that. DO say thank you and call out special people who made contributions to an event or a campaign.
In an LTE you can share your pride and success with your friends and neighbors in a very public way.

Rotarians,
You continue to impress me each and every month this year with your continued membership spirit! As of May 2, our District is sitting with 2,207 members, or +7 year to date! We can do this! We ARE growing! Let’s continue our journey of being one of the very few Districts in the United States to be positive for the year.
When I first arrived in Wisconsin as a wide-eyed teenager from Kathmandu, Nepal, I could never have imagined the journey that awaited me. Thanks to each and every one of you — the Rotarians who opened your homes, your clubs, and your hearts to me during my Youth Exchange year in 2019–20 — I have had the privilege of building a life here that continues to exceed my wildest dreams.
This past weekend, I had the profound honor of returning to the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, the institution that became my second home, to serve as emcee for their 35th Annual Leadership Awards ceremony.
Planning is underway to make Tri-Con ’27 a premier Rotary event. To make that happen, we need your help!
We are currently seeking volunteers to assist with several key leadership and organizational roles, including:
Conference Chair
Vice Chair
Marketing
Sponsorship
Speaker Manager
Stage Manager
This is a wonderful opportunity to be involved in the inner workings of organizing a major convention while working alongside dedicated Rotarians from across the district. We hope to fill these positions this month as planning efforts begin for next year’s event.
If you are interested in serving or would like more information, please contact Scott Ryan at scottryanrotarian@gmail.com
Local Rotarians rolled up their sleeves and made a big impact during a recent Rotary Volunteer Day supporting ReNew the Block, a Habitat for Humanity initiative dedicated to revitalizing neighborhoods and promoting sustainable living. The event brought together members of Rotary Club of La Crosse, Rotary After Hours, and several friends and community volunteers for a day of hands-on service and collaboration.
