Meet our Global Grant Recipient Karissa Bjonstad

Please meet our District 6250 Global Scholar Recipient, Karissa Bjornstad.  She is from Holmen, Wisconsin, where the Rotary Club there is sponsoring her.  Karissa presented information about Global Scholars to the Holmen Club before she left for the United Kingdom this summer.  Also, the UK Club where she is hosted and the Holmen Club have met virtually to get to know one another.

Karissa graduated from UW-LaCrosse and is now living in Oxford, England.  She is an example of the good work that District 6250 and Rotary International Foundation monies support people who will change the world.

Free Ukrainian/Polish Children's Book Downloads

The tales of ‘Ola, Boris and their New Friends’ and ‘Ola and Boris Go to School’ arose out of a heartfelt urge to show solidarity with the Ukrainian people who had to abandon their country because of war. The message these books convey is universal and would be an excellent read for any child you know.

Digital copies of both books are available FREE here:

Under the provisions of the Rotary Foundation’s program, club’s desiring to participate in the grant program must be certified.  Part of that certification process is attendance at a Rotary Grant Management Seminar (GMS). District 6250 will offer three Grant Management Seminars:

Clubs need only have one representation at one of the two sessions however it is recommended that the club president-elect and foundation chair both attend the GMS meeting.

At the GMS you will learn:

December is the time to share food, family, friends, and Rotary

And we share greetings.  Annual letters, cards, e-cards, phone calls… Consider adding a mention of Rotary when you send your greetings this year.

Maybe your friends, co-workers and family members have heard you talk about Rotary, but maybe they haven’t. Experience shows us that sharing Rotary will build goodwill and better friendships, and as an added bonus will increase awareness of the organization we care so much about.

Thank you all, and please have a safe, happy, healthy season.
