WORDS FROM SCOTT RYAN:

I had the privilege of attending the Rotary Zone 25B and 29 Institute as I prepare to serve as your District Governor in 2026-27. The event was held October 1–4, 2025 in Prior Lake, MN at the Mystic Lakes Hotel and Casino. The event brought together Rotary leaders from across the globe. District governors (past, current and future), emerging leaders, district committee chairs and passionate Rotarians convened for a dynamic three-plus days of learning, collaboration, and inspiration.

Personally, I engaged in thought-provoking sessions focused on strengthening Rotary’s impact, expanding our reach, enhancing engagement and increasing our ability to adapt. Additional emphasis was placed on goal preparation, district management and the Governor’s role to serve the clubs within the district. Keynote speakers included Rotary International leaders highlighting Rotary International President Elect Olayinka (Yinka) Babalola and past RI President Jennifer Jones! Other experts provided valuable insights on topics such as membership growth, artificial intelligence as a tool for good, Rotary website training, cultivating leaders and the future of Rotary.

Let’s not forget the value of networking, fellowship opportunities that facilitated deeper discussions and skill-building. Both collaboration and competition among districts and zones ultimately brought all of us together to celebrate the amazing work that is happening in our region and around the world.

I left the Institute feeling energized and equipped with fresh ideas, renewed purpose, and a stronger sense of connection to the broader Rotary mission. I’m excited to bring back what I’ve learned to serve District 6250 and the clubs in our district. We are doing great things and there is more to do!
