On Saturday, October 10, Food-4-Kidz returned to Stoughton for the eleventh time to assemble and distribute these meals to places in the world in need of food. Fundraising, preparation, and volunteer recruitment began several months before to prepare for the big day. On Friday and Saturday morning, the fire station was emptied and by 6:30 on Saturday morning, the crew was there setting up forty tables to create an assembly line.
Volunteers arrived for either the first or second shift to be trained on the Food-4-Kidz assembly process. Families, co-workers and friends all came together for the common good. The event was attended by 324 volunteers, aged 6 to 80 working together to help alleviate hunger around the world.
The Stoughton Rotary Club hosts this annual event and appreciates its partnerships and sponsorships with several other service clubs, churches, and businesses located in the area. In previous years, the club has packed food to Venezuela, Haiti, and Ukraine. The club thanks the citizens of Stoughton and invites everyone to join together next fall when they will again pack meals to those in need.
