"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. We are all meant to shine. And as we let our own light shine, we give other people permission to do the same." - Marianne Williamson
Happy New Year Rotarians! It's time to SHOW UP AND SHINE! As we stand at the starting line of a new year, let the timeless wisdom of Marianne Williamson guide us. Soak in these words of wisdom in print or watch them play out in one of my favorite clips from Coach Carter. Click HERE to watch.

These words hold a profound truth, especially when we consider their resonance in the hearts of our youth. It is in our interaction with the young minds of our communities that we truly grasp the transformative power of service. I saw this synergy of light and service as the student organization I help lead volunteered at Rotary Lights in Waunakee. Just like in the film Coach Carter, we must recognize that our potential is not limited by circumstance but boundless in its possibilities.
In the spirit of sharing our light, let us take on the challenges of the New Year with the same vigor and determination as those student athletes in Coach Carter. As Antwon Tanner says in the clip – "We've got sh#t to do". As Rotarians, we are not merely bystanders but architects of change. Our communities are our classrooms, and the lessons we teach through our actions echo far beyond our immediate surroundings. Together, let's tackle big projects that address the pressing needs of our communities and our world. As we let our collective light shine, we inspire others to join us in the pursuit of a brighter, more compassionate world. This New Year is an opportunity for Rotarians to reaffirm our commitment to service. Let's SHOW AND SHINE TOGETHER.
