District 6250 clubs have a powerful opportunity to multiply their impact in the fight to end polio. From February 1 through April 18, 2026, the Wisconsin Rapids Rotary Club and the Charles and Gayle Gibbons Family Charity Funds will match up to $500 per club donated to PolioPlus. With the additional 2:1 match from the Gates Foundation, a $500 club donation becomes $3,000 for polio vaccines.
If all 49 clubs participate, the district could generate $147,000 toward global polio eradication. Read on to see where to properly direct your funding.
District 6250 clubs have a powerful opportunity to multiply their impact in the fight to end polio. Through a partnership led by the Wisconsin Rapids Rotary Club and the Charles and Gayle Gibbons Family Charity Funds, clubs can take advantage of a special matching opportunity running now through April 18, 2026, leading up to TriCon.
Each club that donates up to $500 to the PolioPlus Fund during this time will receive a $500 match from the Gibbons Family Charity Funds. That combined $1,000 will then be matched 2:1 by the Gates Foundation, resulting in a total impact of $3,000 toward life-saving polio vaccines.
If all 49 clubs in District 6250 participate with a $500 contribution, our district could generate $147,000 to support global polio eradication efforts.
Important Donation Instructions
To ensure your club’s donation qualifies for the match:
Designation is key: Make checks payable to “The Rotary Foundation / PolioPlus.”
Avoid the default fund: Donations made simply to “The Rotary Foundation” will be directed to the Annual Fund and will not count toward this match.
Tracking: District PolioPlus leadership will monitor contributions through Rotary International, so clubs do not need to report their donations separately.
This is a simple way for every club to make a significant impact in Rotary’s global effort to eradicate polio. Consider making your club’s contribution before April 18, 2026, and help turn $500 into $3,000 of life-saving support.
