Six helpful tips to deal with culture shock

  1. Don't blame yourself or others for the way you feel.
    • Culture shock is natural
    • Culture shock is sometimes referred to as "Culture Fatigue"
  2. Don't set too many goals or ones you won't accomplish
    • You will be very overwhelmed
    • Set goals you know you can do
  3. Get as much rest as possible
    • Take an extra nap and get a few extra hours of sleep
  4. Eat well and healthy
    • Keeps your brain and body functioning well
  5. Do things you enjoy!
    • You will be much happier and more capable of dealing with culture shock
  6. Ask our counselor for help if needed.
    • Some situations can be extreme and require professional help.
