Have you ever wondered how clubs create those beautiful "Together, We CONNECT" (Inspire, Transform, End Polio, etc.) Facebook posts using Rotary's People of Action campaign, like the one shown below? The easiest way to create these is using the Create Your Own: People of Action Facebook Post tool in Brand Center, at brandcenter.rotary.org. First time using the tool? We've put together step-by-step instructions for you, here. All you'll need is a My Rotary account and a photo showing your club's Rotarians in action!

Social media has become an integral part of how Rotary clubs communicate. Facebook launched 17 years ago. 10 Tips for Posting on Social Media

  1. Think about friends of Rotary when you are writing your captions. You have great photos and stories to share. Make sure your story will be understood by Rotarians and non-Rotarians alike. Share the best things about your club.
  2. Tag people, organizations, Rotary International, fellow Rotary clubs. Tagging others helps to notify others of what you are doing. They may share or like the post themselves.
  3. Engage with other accounts. “Like” and “comment” on posts made by other organizations. Remember to respond to messages or comments received by your club.
  4. Tag the Rotary District 6250. This will help the District be more aware of- and engage with - your posts. We may even share it!!
  5. Use hashtags and mentions to make it easier for people interested in a topic you’ve written about. Examples include, #EndPolioNow, #Rotary, #PeopleOfAction
  6. Pictures and videos cause people to stop and view. Share pictures of your club members, club meetings, and more.
  7. Provide a link to your club website so people can learn more about your club.
  8. Post regularly. At a minimum, we recommend at least once a week so that your social platforms look current. Modify a post and then repost. Always encourage people to like, comment, and share.
  9. Pin your most important post(s) at the top of your newsfeed, so it’s the first thing visitors see when they land on your page.
  10. Embed your social media accounts on your website.
