Please welcome Cerise Siamof, District 6250’s newest Global Scholar.  Cerise is leaving for the UK in fall to study at the University of Cambridge in order to complete a Master’s degree in Philosophy of Heath, Medicine, and Society.  A graduate of UW-Madison with a B.S. in Biochemistry, Cerise is especially interested in a most timely topic:  the treatment and prevention of communicable diseases. She has already studied the effects of intestinal parasites.  Cerise works at St. Mary’s Hospital as a Senior Scribe with Madison Emergency Physicians, accompanying physicians as they meet with patients.  In her application for the scholarship, she wrote that she wanted to be an “Advocate for preventive medicine and culturally competent, unbiased health care.”  Scholars like her make our district proud that we are able to support their work.
