Knowledge Is Our Greatest Service

The 2026 Vision for our District

As I reflect on the journey we’ve shared across our District over the last few months, I am struck by a singular realization: our impact is directly proportional to our understanding. We are an organization of "People of Action," but the most effective actions are those rooted in modern expertise and a shared vision.

As we continue through this Rotary year, we aren't just asking you to serve; we are asking you to grow.

The Evolution: From "Training" to "Learning"

The Rotary Learning Center has evolved from a simple repository of PDFs into the engine room of our global organization. Following the landmark decisions of the 2025 Council on Legislation, we have shifted our language to reflect a fundamental change in our culture—moving from "training seminars" to "learning seminars." This isn’t just semantics; it is a shift toward a culture of continuous, self-driven improvement. It acknowledges that the most effective Rotarians are those who never stop being students of service.

PETS Makes An Impression!

First impressions are lasting impressions. Two attendees at the most recent President Elect Training Seminar have generously shared theirs. Read on and meet President-Elect, Dr. Taysheedra Allen and Assistant Governor-Elect, Kathi Millard.

"PETS is one of the best opportunities to meet people from different professions,  countries, and backgrounds who all share a focus on service.  I gained skills in leadership and communication and made some new friends!  Being surrounded by passionate people, recharged my enthusiasm, giving me the skills and confidence to step into my new AG role.  Thanks Midwest PETS for the opportunity of a lifetime!" Kathi Millard

“This was my first time attending PETS, and I honestly didn’t expect just how meaningful the experience would be. It was fun, inspiring, uplifting, and incredibly encouraging all at once. I walked away with so many valuable tools and ideas that I know will help guide me as I step into my first year as president of my local club.” Taysheedra Allen

World Immunization Week

The other day I was cleaning my kitchen while half-listening to the news when I overheard a doctor say that “much of the progress in medical research and outreach over the years was due in part by Rotary.”

Wait… what? I stopped dead in my tracks, kitchen rag dripping…

Of course I know this, I’m a Rotarian. But hearing it on national news hit differently. Suddenly it felt real.

Virtual Connection Hour : A Journey of Service

Tune in here as Mary Beth Growney Selene shares her thoughts on Rotary and life!

Mary Beth Growney Selene Reflects on Leadership, Humility, and the Power of “We” in Rotary

When Mary Beth Growney Selene reflects on her journey in Rotary, she begins with a story that perfectly captures the spirit of service.

While preparing for a recent presentation, she was watching the Wisconsin Badgers women's ice hockey compete against the Ohio State Buckeyes women's ice hockey for the national championship. The Badgers’ head coach, Mark Johnson, a member of the legendary 1980 United States Olympic hockey team, has led Wisconsin to nine national titles during his tenure.

One quote from Johnson stood out to her:

“It doesn’t matter who is on the ice. It doesn’t matter who is scoring. It is just about what I can do to help the team win. It’s not about me. It never has been and it never will be.”

For Selene, that philosophy mirrors Rotary at its best.

What is an EPIC Day of Service, you ask? It’s more than just a date on the calendar—it’s a global movement. It is a unifying moment where Rotary clubs across the world synchronize their efforts to create a powerful, collective story of impact.

When we move together, we create visibility, momentum, and inspiration. We remind our neighbors that Rotary isn’t just a name; it’s an active, committed force for good in our communities.

What fills your Rotary cup?

For four Rotarians from northwest Wisconsin, theanswer is simple: fellowship, friendship, and international understanding—foundon the curling ice through the International Curling Fellowship of Rotarians.

Rotary Fellowships are international groups that bring together Rotarians, family members, and program participants who share a common passion. Whether it is cycling, wine, photography, hiking, or service projects, fellowships create meaningful connections beyond the weekly meeting.

When RI Magazine Coveres Your Club

There are over 1.2 million Rotarians worldwide who belong to approximately 45,000-46,000 clubs across the globe. When you look at those statistics, it’s pretty amazing that two of our District 6250 clubs were featured in the Rotary International magazine.

As our Club of Focus for the month, we asked Black River Falls President, Lynn Martalock-Wensel and Lake Mills President, Anita Martin a few questions about their experiences in being chosen to be featured in the Rotary International magazine, and here’s what they had to say:
